TDS is the total dissolved solids, which are the total amount of mobile charged ions such as minerals, salts or metals dissolved in a volume of water. It is measured in units of mg per unit volume of water (mg/L) or as parts per million (ppm). TDS relates directly to the purity of water and the quality of the water purification systems.
