First, a single cup of coffee that comes out of this tastes amazing; HOWEVER, it really needs a better auto-off feature. As you can see from my photo, I wrote ” Unplug me” to remind my boyfriend to turn it off (he still forgets ��). The machine has an indicator light that shows when the cycle ends, and the machine turns off when the indicator light goes out at the end of the cycle; however, I think this is actually bad that the light turns off, because you mistakenly think the machine is off completely… it is not. The indicator light must be a temperature or pressure gauge. It is very easy to forget to turn off the brew setting on the knob. If the knob is turned to the brew setting, the machine kicks back on as soon as the temp and/or pressure goes down enough for it to think it’s a new brew… then it kicks back on, heats up, turns off… rinse and repeat. This means is stays on for hours if you don’t carefully adjust the knob or unplug the machine. Also, I mentioned it’s good for one cup. If I try to make a second cup immediately, or if the machine has been left on, it leaks water and steam from the coffee tray – machine seam. (Where the metal cup attaches to the machine). I assume this is related to the temperature of the metal around the edge of the fittings. This causes a big mess, and a much smaller cup of coffee. I suppose it is one of the more affordable options, but you get what you pay for here. I’m probably going to replace it when I can afford a nicer one.
