Its quick action makes it particularly useful for the maintenance of silver, silver-plated, pewter, and stainless steel objects which are used frequently. It contains soap and vegetal solvents. The paste has almost instant effects and does not cause any scratches or marks on the metals.A Small Word of WarningWe use Hagerty products in our own workshop and know them to be safe for musical instruments IF used correctly. However, the use of any kind of silver treatment on your musical instrument is entirely at your own risk; we do not take responsibility for any damage or other problems occurring as a result of the (mis)use of this product.Use of Hagerty Silver & Multimetal Foam on woodwinds is not recommended. For the product to be effective, the surface to be treated has to be wet, and that is not something you can easily do at home without damaging pads and other parts of the instrument. Leave it to your professional repair technician to use this product on your flute or other silver/silver plated woodwind instrument.Silver or silver plated brass instruments: make sure to remove your pistons/valves from the instrument before applying Silver & Multimetal Foam onto your instrument. Do not apply this product to your valves. After polishing, be sure to give your entire instrument, and especially the slides and valve casings, a good cleanout to get rid of any potential residue.
